Say hai to... Gabriela Richardson

This week we bring you a special behind the scenes edition of Hai Society from our recent shoot in Spain with emerging musical talent, Gabriela Richardson. Hailing from Barcelona, Gabriela's profile was raised back in 2015 when she collaborated on the song Hundred Miles with Spanish group Yall, which on YouTube alone went on to gain 50 million views. Since then she has steadily released a roster of captivating pop songs which feel relevant for a generation who are currently coming of age. Gaby, photographer Julia Carbonell and the Hai team spent a day gallivanting around Barcelona, in an attempt to try and capture the spirit of Hai against a backdrop of the beauty and grit of a city we count as one of our many homes.

Read on to learn more about Gabriela and follow her day with Hai in Barcelona...

Hi Gabriela....or should we say Hai!

Hello Hai Society

Can you describe what you do?

My name is Gabriela Richardson and I'm a musician.

Where do you consider home? When do you know you are home?

The place I consider home is actually where my dog is.

Describe how you feel when you are on a creative Hai? (high)

When I'm creating, when I'm doing music, I actually feel like I'm not myself and I'm connected to something bigger than me.

The best, untalked about place in your city?

The best untalked about place in Barcelona, I would say the mountains in Barcelona by Vallvidrera where I like to go to meditate and recharge my crystal stones.

How, or where do you go to find inspiration?

Normally I find inspiration in people that I meet, in my friends and my family. But I've been going to Mallorca a lot recently, so at the moment the sea, the sun, nature.

What do you do when no one is watching?

I can't tell you because then it won't be a secret ;)

Where are you going to take your Hai next?

The next place I'm going to take my Hai is to the studio, which is where I have to go right now... I'm late!
