Sass

We first met Sass when she modelled for us back in 2021. Her eclectic style and creative nature drew us closer and we stayed in touch, inviting her, along with a handful of other friends of Hai, to our debut London Fashion Week presentation.

For this week's blog we invited Sass to get dressed up in our Florence Mini Dress and share a little more about herself and her life living in South London with our community.

What do you do?

I’m an artist, model, and student, and I make jewellery!

Where do you call home?

I feel torn between Tasmania where I grew up and South London where I live now and love so much.

What are the biggest inspirations to your work?

I am always very inspired by films and poetry, and by the fleeting nature of human emotions and relationships.

Can you recall your dream job as a child?

Surprisingly I wanted to be a Rockstar with blue spiky hair.

Dogs or cats?

Cats, I admire their independence.

A film that you could watch every day and never get tired of?

Y tu mamá también by Alfonso Cuarón

Important question, lipstick or lipgloss?

Lipstick!

Favourite restaurant in the world?

Sensi Tapas in Barcelona, lifechanging.

Who would play you in the movie about your life?

If I’m flattering myself, I’d love to have Mia Goth play me.

What’s your most treasured possession?

A bowl that my mum gave me when I moved out, its beautiful and reminds me of her.

If you had to eat one breakfast food for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Bagels. With any topping.

Favourite vintage/second hand store in the world?

Guerrisol in Paris! There’s so many of them and they’re incredible and so cheap.

What has been your high (hai) of 2022 so far?

My friend’s birthday dinner last month, she cooked a beautiful meal, and we talked all night. It’s such a warm memory.

Where are you going to take your Hai pieces next?

Amsterdam!
