Elle Britt
Please meet the creative and talented mind behind the styling of our latest ready-to-wear season. We are delighted to have had the pleasure of working with Elle and watch her transform the soft hues and luminous textures of crinkled satin silks from our Spring/Summer 23' collection. We invited Elle to come visit us at our studio to try on some of her favourite Hai pieces and get to know more about her inspirations, music tastes and essential routines.
What do you do?
I'm a fashion stylist.
Did you choose your profession or did it choose you?
I chose it. I had never even considered a stylist as a profession until I had left school and started doing my own research. My education was more academic and they didn't nurture the creative prospects as much. Once I started interning on shoots when I was 21 I became obsessed!
How would you describe your taste in music?
Well all my friends tell me it’s terrible! I love a good bit of pop to sing along to while driving and also classical.
What/where/who inspires you?
Personally, my mum- currently her hairstyle from when she was a teenager. And for work I take inspiration from everywhere- cities, history (anything old really) landscapes, and nature. I spend a lot of time in the library, I am in love with old books.
How would your friends describe you?
ooo. um bossy and busy! Ha
Who do you go to for advice?
My husband Tom, and my friends- I really like to talk things through!
What’s an essential part of your daily routine?
Yoga.
What is the best part about living in London?
I grew up in Australia so the option to always have something to do is still a novelty! London is so close to Europe and that is why I love it- easy to get anywhere.
If you could live anywhere else, where would it be?
Biarritz, France.
What does your perfect weekend look like?
Yoga, walking around the city looking at galleries and dinner with friends.
What song do you play on repeat?
Mothers Love, The Vernon Spring.
What is your favourite piece from our SS23 collection?
Many! But I just love the Cora top and the Floris shirt I wear a lot, so easy to throw on and you never have to iron it!
What are you looking forward to in 2023?
Everything. I'm a big planner and plans for 2023 are endless. Can’t wait!
